<image:title>Blog - Wild Alone, Together - Walking through my home, I noticed from the corner of my gaze a painting leaning against the dresser, waiting to be hung on the wall. The painting depicted a woman with untamed hair, dressed in a loose white cloth, walking barefoot along the ripples of a stream, accompanied by a white stallion. Inching closer to admire the artwork, I was transported to a childhood memory.</image:title>

      <image:title>About - JAZZ</image:title>
<image:caption>Vernacular Jazz has a long history rooted in Africa, particularly in the traditions of West African culture, in which music and dance are functional aspects of everyday life. <image:title>Mentors - Stephanie Jurkova-Abaco</image:title>
<image:caption>I am Stephanie. Sprouted in the rose fields of Bulgaria, nurtured by the rainforests of Nigeria, and blossoming in the foothills of Alberta, I now thrive in the sunshine and fresh air of Moh-kíns-tsis, Canada. I value diversity and the unique languages through which we express. Dance is my language for creative expression, it gifts me with the freedom of sharing my most authentic self. My passion for movement began as a rhythmic gymnast. After five years of competing at a national level, the universe gracefully transitioned me into Ballroom Dancing. My artistry thrived, but I didn’t feel whole. I yearned to find a medium that fostered an authentic love for movement rather than a competitive spectacle. A pivotal step in my growth was acquiring my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Contemporary dance from the University of Calgary. I also chose to delve deeper into my craft and pursued two years with Decidedly Jazz Dancework’s Professional Training Program. I am finally ready to share all that I have learned. My purpose is to spread happiness, share a sustainable approach to movement and help individuals connect to their inner rhythm. I seek to create relationships and foster an inclusive environment regardless of culture, gender, race or ability.</image:caption>
